Default Some questions about getting new wheels.

So I'm thinking about buying the 18x9.5 and 19x10 black zo6 wheels from JW. There are some things I'm worried about. First is will buying new wheels affect the tire pressure sensor? I have no idea how the sensor system works. Is there a sensor in the wheel that I would have to transfer?
The other thing I came across when on the C6 forum was some people mentioning ABS. I wouldn't think that ABS would be affected woudl it?
And last is I'm going to throw some 305/30/19 in the rear and 275/35/18 in the front. Will those fit okay?

your new wheels will need TMPS's added for them to work with the TPMS system. I don't know about if they swap. You should be able to put the sensors on the new wheel, ALOT of guys have wheels on there vettes so im sure somone makes a sensor to keep the lights off.

you shouldnt have problems with the abs.. As long as your front tires are the same size and rear tires are the same size as one another then there isnt a problem. Your Speedo will be off a little any time you change tire size (very minimal if your not changing the diameter to much)

If your lowered id say you might rub a little but that is only 1 size wider then the stock Z06 tires, i would think your fine IF you have the correct offset/backspacing

Tire size calc will tell you how much your speedo will be off.. put in original size and new size.

Hope this helps

This was a big help. I looked more into the TPS and I'm hoping I will be able to swap out the old sensors to the new wheels and the same tire position and they will work fine.
That tire size calc was pretty interesting to look at. Thanks for the link.

Your tire sizes are fine for those rims, same diameter so no issues with ABS or rubbing etc. , but you might think about a 8.5" (245/40/18 tire) wide front rim instead of 9.5. The car will feel heavier in turns.

The sensors are connected to the stem inside, so removing/re install is not a problem, just make sure the tire shop marks which tire is which as they pull them off.
