97vette wiper problem
Help please. Just bought a nice 97 torch red with 113k. The fuse was pulled on wipers, I put it in and wipers worked thru speeds, washer etc. They will not shut off hence why someone pulled the fuse. I love the car and hope there is an easy and somewhat inexpensive fix. They say clean the switch contacts, there is a bad ground, a bad relay, or replace the stalk? Any help please and parts if needed. Would also like to find new plastic power seat bezels for both seats, a nicer roof panel, chrome spoke wheels and whatever else that may be cool or productive.

On a more serious note,,,,your issue is most likley related to a wetted wiper motor control board. The reason its getting wet is, the well that the motor sits in has THREE udder drains. The drains are CLOGGED with nasty smelly trash.
Open the Hood and look at the brake vacuum booster. The area between the fender and the booster is big enough to insert your hand/arm. If you have a MN6 Manual trans car, the clutch resovour will make the clearance a bit smaller.
Reach in and find the three udders. (yep,,,there in there!
) If there hard, there clogged. Pop them out and see what comes out. If theres nothing in the drains, sometime in the past, there was and the control board on the bottom of the motor is bad cause it got wet.
Sometimes,,,you can drian out the water and let the motor dry out and all is well. i seriously doubt that in your case. Autozone, NAPA and Advance normaly sell rebuilt motors/controlers for a reasionable price. Make sure that it works properly if you purchase a rebuilt unit.
