Default AC Compressor replacement question

im replacing the ac compressor due to a leaking body o-ring. Originally I was just going to reseal it, but seems no seal/o-ring kits are avail so im gonna go with a whole compressor. When I install the accumalator, I see it says to add oil to accumalator...Do i just pour correct amount right in to hose port? Does it matter what side? Ill be using a Robinair recharge machine...could i just shoot some oil in before recharging?

thoughts?

You have no info in your sig, so I have no idea what year you have. Not sure where you have checked, but the seal kits are available from A/C Delco. This link is for a search I did for a 2000 C5, you can plug in your own year.

Hmmm....website turtorial, huh? ......ok.

If you use the link I provided, it will take you to a screen to make selections, based on year, make, model, etc. Make the selections as below, and it will provide the part numbers. The part number for the seal kit, is also right out of the C5 parts manual I have.

My original post....

"im replacing the ac compressor due to a leaking body o-ring"

All parts listed there are external parts, I need internal parts. I can rebuild the compressor myself if I get parts...there just are no seals avail..factory or aftermarket. Omni, who mfg the original o-rings says they have a 4 week back order. IM not gonna wait 4 weeks for AC.

I dont drive the car but every couple of months anyway, but If I should want to, I want ac

When I change out my compressor I used PAG 46 oil.

I purchased my compressor on ebay and it came with the compressor seal and an orfice tube. I followed this procedure by RoccoC5.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-write-up.html

I did reuse all of my o-rings because I couldn't find new ones at the time but later learned you can get them from the dealer.
