TSB - Rocking Seat
The TSB states to replace the seat adjuster assembly with a new part released to correct the condition. The new part numbers are 88953528 (power driver seat without memory) and 88953529 (power driver seat with memory).
Let the parts ordering begin....

Only now, in a couple of months, I'll find out that Vin 25106380 and on has a different seat problem. Mine Creaks and I'm only 180 LB.

On another note, why the heck does chevy make the dealer pull the seat apart and go, "oh, it's the ol' rocking seat problem, guess we better order a seat adjuster". then the put it back together half assed and you have to come in so they can ***** up your shiznit even more the second time! :cuss
Oh, well....
good luck....

It's about friggin' time they decided to take care of the effin problem.
Do you have any sort of link to the TSB? Or a TSB #?
Thanks
Good thing it wasn't something really important like the wheel lugs.
GM must take some of the blame because they pay the idiot 20 minutes for a 30 minute job.
The "rocking chair" is a shift, under braking /acceleration, of the part occupied by your behind. The "seat-back flop" is "normal".
...and to respond to a question earlier in the thread, a recall is a mandatory repair that should be performed by the dealer the next time the car is in for service. These are usually safety items such as seat belt problems, suspension defects, etc. Recalls are performed, usually at no charge, in or out of warranty. There have been very, very few recalls on C5s.
A TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) is nothing more "official" than a trouble-shooting guide to help the dealer correctly diagnose common problems.
A TSB is not a "feeebie" repair...If your car is out of warranty you will pay for it. Even if it is in warranty the dealer will not usually perform the repairs unless you car exhibits the symptoms detailed in the bulletin.
...and after 3 fixes my damn seat still rocks!
88953529 IS a new part number (last time [Nov. '00] it was 12455533) so I guess we'll have to see if THIS works!
The 1st time I had mine fixed they scratched my car resulting in a trip to the paint booth.:nopity
Hope this is the final fix.
