Default Borla Swap?

I am running LG long tubes into 3" pipes back to Borla Stingers on my C5 Z06. It has caused me to waste all the $s I spent converting the sound system to JL w/amps & sub - can't hear 'em. I don't really want to go back to the stock cat backs - has anyone had any experience with the Borla Touring mufflers (oval I think) - how much sound & HP reduction? The guy that I sold my stock cat backs to lost 12 HP on the dyno. I don't want the car quiet but have to calm it down a little???

Ti's are a great set-up. With what you have done to the car, you arent going to hurt it by putting Ti's back on it. Catbacks add sound, not power. There are people with over 500wheel that are using the Ti exhaust.

The BIG 3 seems to accomplish both. It adds power and its pretty mellow.

I just found "The Big 3" on LG's site after I posted this thread - there are inside and outside recordings that sound pretty good. I called LG and visited with them about this - this would give me 3" all the way back and still tame the sound - the finish on them in the photos looks show quality - it's the price I choked on a little. Wonder what I could sell my Borla Stinger cat back set for used???????

OK - Now I'm really unsure - my tuner told me the "Big 3" didn't fit well and was made in China - I'm ont going that route. He suggested Magnaflow but I contacted them and they don't supply reducers for or bolt up to 3" pipes. My Vette guy tried to talk me out of trying the Borla Touring - said they would still be too loud and might drone with the LG long tube pros and the 3" pipes. I'd sure like to hear that setup b4 I drop mega bucks just to try 'em. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I personally think Magnaflow is an awesome system. It may not be too expensive to match the pipes up to fit. Magnaflow is very aware of the droning issues and design their systems accordingly. I sold my Stingers for the same reason and put the stock Ti's back on the Z. It's agressive when you get into it, but otherwise fairly quiet, and there is very little droning at speed. I just wish the axle-back systems weren't so dang expensive so I could try various systems without getting drilled by the wife. Finally, I lost 4hp going from the stingers to the stock Ti. That could easily be engine temps? The HP Tuners attitude that day? OBD II connector resistance? Atmosperic pressure? Eleven year cycle of solar flares? Karma? Ok, I'll shuit up now...

My wife is dangerous - she says get it if you need it. I've got way too many toys to do any justice to any of them. 68 and still open my office every day - have to - couldn't afford the toys otherwise. Rare & expensive Case pocket knife collection, safe full of firearms - 4 I haven't even taken time to shoot yet, was showing Shar-Pei dogs in conformation, Country Coach diesel pusher that needs to be used more - etc. I agree on the Magnaflow - I've heard sound bites and the construction looks to be tops. Thanks for the comments.

From your description, I'd highly recommend Corsa Touring. They are %100 droneless, but will speak with authority when you push the loud pedal. At steady cruise, all you'll hear is road noise.
