Looking to buy a pretty decent upgrade package. Looks like I can do the whole thing myself, but I've never done rockers before. Anyone know how hard this is and what specialty tools I may need? Pics would help too.
Are you using stock rockers or an aftermarket rocker? Requirements for tools and removal/installation methods will depend on the rocker being used. For removal of stock, make sure you have a good 6 point socket, don't use a 12 point. Those bolts are pretty tight on first removal. Here is the installation procedure for stock rockers, removal is done the same way. You want to loosen the bolt when the valve is closed and install that way as well.
Watch for intake valve to close then rotate another 90 degree and use a flashlight to watch for the piston to come to the top. You can also use a straw or something to feel for it but careful you don't drop it into the cylinder.
It will also be a bugger to turn over with the plugs in. You can make a special wrench to turn it over using a cut 24mm socket welded to a metal handle.
