The Harmonic Balancer on my '01 Z06 is on its way out. Yeah, bad luck for me. My biggest question is what is a fair price to pay to have the balancer and serpentine belt replaced? I have looked on the forum and most have paid around $500. Today I called three different Chevy dealerships and received three different prices. The first couldn't give me an exact price and told me around $800, the second dealership quoted me $623.28, and the last dealership quoted me $716.55. As you can probably guess I am confused about the difference in price and a little frustrated. If someone could help me out and let me know what a fair price is I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by "fair price". All you have to do is know what the itemized charges are. Are all the shops you checked out charging the same amount for parts? What are the labor rates? You can check with the parts department or GMPartshouse, to see what the cost of the parts are, and then find out what the individual shops labor rate is, and how many hours they claim it will take. Then add it up, and then you'll see who is over charging you on the parts, and who is either higher(or quoting more time) for labor.
i am having a powerbond 10% underdrive pulley installed by a local tuner in july. price for the pulley is $200 and install will be $300. my local dealership quoted me $1450 to install a stock GM pulley-you know, the kind that starts to wobble and then needs replacing!!!
i think it's a fair deal as i don't want to remove the steering rack to do it myself!
Since two prices appear to be somewhat itemized (at least some thought was put into the cost estimate) you should find out how many they have changed and what parts are included. I personally wouldn't change the damper without replacing the front crank seal at the same time and you may find one dealer is planning on doing that and the other is not. As previously stated, you need to get the quotes further itemized.

On a side note I think it's criminal the way the stock balancers start coming apart
