Default Squeaky Hawk HP Plus pads

I just had a set of Hawk HP Plus pads installed along with some new Brake Performance slotted rotors. As soon as I picked the car up from the shop I noticed the squeaky brakes. It never did that with the previous Hawk HPS pads that I had on there for over 20K miles. The car sounds like a school bus stopping when I apply the brakes and it's pretty embarrassing.

I tried to bed-in the brakes with some hard stops, but no luck with getting rid of the noise. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I hated the hawk hp plus pads when I had them on mine. They stopped great, but were VERY squeaky/noisy when stopping. It was almost embarrassing. Had them replaced with ceramics which quieted it down, but stopping power was not very good. Now I am using hawk hps all around, and they are great. Good stopping power and quiet.

I've been using them for three years, they squeek when cold, dust heavily, wear rotors at a faster rate than most street pads but they do stop very well.
My car is primarily an autocross car so these idiocyncracies do not bother me. They will squeek less as they get older but not much. Your either going to have live with it or replace them.

drive faster, brake HARDER. Dont ***** foot the brake peddle

or go back to stock brake pads.

Performance brake pads WILL SQUEAK, when used softly

Have my HPS for 4 years. I bed them about every other year. Watch your rear view mirror and make semi aggressive stops, no babying.

That won't be a problem.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one experiencing this. They do stop really well, and having a 775+rwhp car, I definitely need all the stopping power I can get. I guess I'll just live with the noise...even though it sounds like a school bus stopping.

Pretty much

Also if your rotor has a significant wear pattern in it, it'll make the squeaking worse until your new pads "conform" to it. That's probably why you didn't hear it with your old pads that had the same compound.

OK Houston We may have a PROBLEM here.

Hawk HP Plus pads and 775+ RWHP ARE NOT COMPATIBLE

For that type of HP to STOP your car, you will need full out race pads.

Hawk DTC-70s front and DC-60s rear. or better yet a BIG BRAKE KIT. Brembo GT1 brake kit would be a good choice

and you think HP Plus squeak speeds at low speeds?

but do you want to stop and low speeds or high speeds? the two are mutually exclusive.

race pads do work on the street at low speeds, but they don't sequel they grind loud. They will sound like the brake pads are EATING the rotor.

But they do stop from HIGH speeds.

I'll definitely look into the Hawk DTC-70's and DC-60s next time around. I can't really go with a big brake kit since I have plans on running a CCW drag pack at the track next season.

Thanks for all the input, it's appreciated.
