Hi - I've been reading through the forums about this code. When I looked in my car engine bay - they Air Filter box was changed to a K&N air filter. However when following hoses to the AIR system. I noticed that the hose that is close to the Air Filter is not connected to anything and has a bolt capping the hose closed. It looks like the AIR never gets to the air system. Is this normal for aftermarket air intakes? How do I connect this back to the air intake? will that get rid of the code?
That could be the cause, the hose thats blocked is the air intake to the Air pump thats located under the LF headlight, no air from the airpump will cause P0410.
see the thread below, its pretty comprehsnsive... good luck http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...eck-valve.html

What's the history here? Did you just buy the car? The larger hose that connects between the AIR pump, and the air filter, is intake air for the pump itself. So if this is plugged, it would starve the pump. My guess is, the pump is not even running....can you hear it?
everything is connected correctly up into the start of the hose. I believe that should hook up to the air filter box, however the air filter box that is currently in there has no nipple to hook up this hose to.

So you either have to get creative, and come up with a connection for your current air intake, or put a filter on the end of the hose and call it a day.
Yah thats what my thoughts were to. I may just put a small filter on it and call it a day.
what would be the side effects of the AIR system not working? would I have lost gas millage or something? Sorry for the NOOB question
It's a routine the PCM runs at start up (up to 240 seconds), and then it's over. It will not affect engine operation, and many deactivate the whole system. You do have to get the codes turned off so they do not report if you remove the system, and I'm fairly certain, the P0410 would cause you to fail an emissions test.

From my experience I'm fairly certain that P0410 will keep you from passing emissions.
I don't have a scan tool or MKlll car computer so i had to rely on the dealer but I tried and tried all remedies to clear P0410 to no avail. I eventually had to have the dealer replace both air check valves to clear P0410 as it would not pass Massachusetts inspection.
Hopefully alowing the air pump to work will clear the codes after awhile
