Calling all brake gurus...
Noticed some front rotor discoloration (dark spots/streaks), see photos. No pulsing or noticable decrease in performance, 68K miles on what I believe are the original pads/rotors.
Is this something to be concerned with? I do some occasional spirited driving on nascar tracks and want to make sure things are safe.

i think the discoloration you see is due to thin brake pads that are heating up way too much and transferring the heat to the rotors.
pulsing will certainly soon follow. time for new pads and maybe even new rotors.

^I agree, I have tracked my car a bit and have had those spots on my rotors (fronts) for a long time, prob a good 15k miles without ANY issues with stopping power/brake fade or warping, I do use pads that get SUPER hot at the track (performance friction carbon metallics). I would not worry about it.

Thanks for all of your replys, I figured it probably was nothing unusual because both sides L/R have the same condition.
Just wanted to put additional sets of eyes on it to be sure.
