Default zo6 screen + blackwing???

I have a blackwing does the zo6 screens help and if so does water become a problem? also does the engine compartment get accessively dirty?
 or should I get the cold air box?

Stay away from the cold air box. Surging and you expose your filter to all the crud on the road for a possible 2-4 HP. I am running the Donaldson with Z06 screens and love it. I put three 1" dia. holes in each foglight shroud with a hole saw. The filter does not get dirty or wet from the openings, they are too far to the side. Do get a hood seal for the front. E-mail me if you need instructions for the installation. Works great.

I removed the factory surrounds and installed the ZO6 screens with double sided outdoor carpet tape. no problems with water and dust under the hood has not increased. I like performance for my dollar like the other guy but I dont want to be cleaning my air filter once a month or more as you would need to do with a bottom breather.

Scruffy,

Did you cut the foglight shrouds while they were on the car, or take them off and cut them?

Use a good drill with a long extension and a hole saw bit. Three or four holes starting at the inside of the shroud (away from the fog light) will do it. Less than 2 minutes per side. Don't try to remove the shrouds, way to difficult and one big PITA.

Thanks! When I can afford Z06 screens, I'll use this procedure (just ordered the Borla Stinger, so out of cash for now :)). You guys on here are great! I'm constantly amazed at how much good information I get from forum members.
