Hey everyone, long story short i'm converting my C5 6 speed to a stage 6 RPM 4L60E tranny w/ Vigilante 3600 converter.
Per RPM i'll be running the B&M super trans cooler w/ the built in electric fan/temp switch. no problem, but should i also run the auto radiator as well? Some say yes some say no need.
If so, i'm assuming my 6 speed radiator doesn't have the ports for the auto trans correct?
On another note, anyone have any good places to put that B&M cooler? and how to? How do the tranny lines work etc? I was going to try to put it underneath in back but they say no I need to put it in front of the radiator for better flow even though it has a built in fan.?
YES--- bypass the radiator trans cooler-----Mine ran 10* cooler when i did-----It's intention was to warm the trans fluid in freezing temps---But as soon as the radia. gets hot--so does the fluid---Trans temps over 200* are a killer----so how can you cool the trans with a radiator that's 210*---But use common sense---If in real cood weather let the car warm up well--
I intalled an 8x10 long cooler on the pass side fan shroud--cut a hole in the shroud so it gets incoming air from the ground---and also use a motorcycle fan to help

I learned something today. I had no idea the only intention of the transmission fluid running through the radiator, was to warm it up.....not cool it down.
