manual to auto trans
Anyone have any experience swaping a manual for an auto trans? Its a 2000 FRC 6spd manual and I am thinking of installing a automatic trans.

I agree it has been discussed, but I certainly don't think the notion is silly. I love my six speed...............until I go to the drag strip. I can honestly say, if I never made another performance upgrade to the engine (staying at 520 rwhp), I would convert to an auto....and call it a day.

Funny, I'd like my A4 to become a MN6!

I agree, I'm really happy with mine since converting to RPM built A4. Hey loman call rpmtransmissions.com they can quote you a turnkey conversion or send the parts to a competent vette shop.

very common for a manual trans car to be converted to auto for drag racing, both quicker and more consistant.

It would be cheaper to sell your car and buy one with the transmission you want.

That's a misnomer.
A built transmission is going to cost as is a converter. The same applies to a manual transmission.
If you have some decent skills and know of someone to reflash your PCM you can do the swap pretty cheaply.
The manual tranny cars hold up a little better in stock form to mods than the automatics.
