98 c5 corvette
hi I'm new to this site this question might be answered some where else but i don't know. I had a guy ask me if i would change the starter for him i agreed to do it so yesterday I unhooked the battery changed the starter (which was no easy task) re hooked the battery up clean up and went to drive it and it says service column lock and will not let me go over 2 mph. the column is not locked tho i do hear the lock go on and off my question is do i need to get the bypass relay kit from http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...d=220&pcid=156 or what do i need to do?? i could my local dealer and they wanted me to bring it there would tell me much about it but i would rather fix it my self if at all possible

At the very TOP of the C5 Tech section are STICKEY POST that detail specific C5 issues. The column lock is a very rabid C5 issue and theres a stickey to detail it.
It's one of the TOP looked at stickeys next to my Important electrical / GROUND stickey.
So that tells you it SIGNIFICANT!
