I did some research and I'm a little lost as to what the real problem is. A/C was working fine, blowing cold air. Yesterday took the car on a 3 hours trip and the a/c stopped blowing cold air. It blew air fine, it was just very hot. I figured all the freon escaped and bought a recharge kit. Hooked up the kit to the low side and bam, pressure was extremely high. What gives? Is the evaparator toast? I am functionally retarded at best when it comes to a/c units. Any advice on where to start would be much appreciated in this South Carolina heat. -Ryan
First things first, make sure your A/C belt has not broken. Had this happen to me and was getting ready to check pressures when I noticed that the belt was gone.

Thanks, the a/c belt is brand new. Put in on about a week ago. I'll check it again though.
