Default Heads Up Display

Hello Everyone

The Dealer just replaced my Heads Up Display.
It seems to me not to be centered, a bit more to the right.
Is this a way it can be adjusted without taking the dash apart?
BTW: It is a 2001.
Thanks for your help.

The adjustment for the HUD is only for up and down. Too bad there's no side to side adjustment for those of us who like to drive with our chin in hand and elbow on console.

It probably won't be an issue if you only want to use the speed with no surrounding graphics. - I wonder what the issue is. As I recall, it only goes in one way.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the issue is either. The previous HUD was cenetered and I never noticed anything wrong with it. Maybe the new one is brighter and it just more noticable now. I do wish they had a side to side adjustment. Maybe on the C6 they do?
Someday I'll find out.
Thanks

Hey Jerry

My HUD just went up in smoke this weekend. I was just wondering how much the dealer charger to replace your unit.

Thanks

Also, what were the symptoms? My HUD is very bright in the morning and not so much so in the afternoon. I suspect another solder-splitting issue, like what happened to the HVAC temperature PCA.

Default Keeping the console Cool

I came up with quick cheap fix and so far so good. I bought a c-6 ZO-6, tunnel brace. Then went to Lowes and bought a roll of
insulation. It is the kind that is bubble wrap. It is the kind that has Aluminium on both sides and plastic bubbles in the center.

I cut the insulation to match the shape of the tunnel brace. Then layered it the insulation goes against the torque tube then the C-6 brace and finally the stock bracket.

With all the other things I am in the process of doing I had forgot about the mod (I did it back in December and have been out of town for 6 months). Anyway driving around Friday (trying to burn up gas so I can then drain the tank) I happened to notice that the console was
cool. The outside temp was 94* my water temp was 215* oil was 205*. Was driving under 50 MPG in 2 and 3 gear, so things under the car were hot.
This is an easy and cheap fix, plus the car may be stiffer with the double brace.

Thanks
I was under an extended warranty at the time, it only cost me $100.
It does get really weird sometimes. It blurrs out and turns bright blue, and you can see every possible image. I think it happens when the sun reflects on it in a specific way. It returns back to normal after awhile.

The angle of the sun will cause this from time to time, and it is not a sign that your HUD is faulty or going bad.
