well i just finished installing a supercharger kit with a pair of heads and i haven't got it tuned yet but i haven't gotten into boost. so ive been driving the car around for 3 days and everything was fine until last night. a couple of friends and i decided to go take a couple of pictures last night of the car, so we went to a parking garage. i left the car on so i could take some video of it and when i went to move it to another location the car died out of know where, i tried turning it back on and i noticed my fuel pressure gauge was reading zero. the first fuse i checked was the kbap fuse and it was good, so then i checked the 20amp fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse box and it was blown. i replaced it and it blew again as i tried turning the car on, then i disconnected the kbap and connected the stock fuel pump harness and replaced the 20amp fuse again and tried turning it on, the fuse blew again. now i left the car at the parking garage, and im gonna have a tow truck pick it up today, but until then does anyone have any idea what it could be. thanks in advance.
One is to LOOK WHERE YOU WORKED LAST! I dont know if the KBBAP hooks into the OEM wiring but, if it does, look at those connections for shorts or mis-wiring. If the added pump adds too much load on the OEM 20 AMP circuit, the fuse will blow.
The other is a bad OEM pump or bad / defective OEM wiring between the tank and the fuse.
Measure the resistance of the OEM Pump and make sure that the pump resistance falls in the OEM pump resistance readings.

thanks for the quick response bill, sorry i forgot to add that i have a racetronix harness installed and the kbap is connected to that. i installed the harness and kbap back in january and havent really had any problems with it. ill start checking the wiring as soon as i get the car home today, then ill check the oem pump resistance. by any chance, do you know what the oem resistance is? thanks

well today i managed to take a look at it, one of the first things i did to rule out the pump was unplug the fuel pump and replace the fuse, then try to see if it would blow the fuse as soon as i turned the key. the fuse popped as soon as i turned the key, so that means the pump had nothing to do with it, so the short had to be somewhere between the fuse box and where the harness connects to the fuel pump. well it turned out to be the harness was making contact with the frame in the back and was causing it to short out, fixed it, now everything is good. i just need to test drive it to make sure all is good and then make a appointment to tune this thing. thanks again everyone for the help.

Was this obvious once you started looking. I'm installing this harness and BAP next week?

Thank you.
Thank you too, Racetronix. A lot of us come on here looking to learn. When a potential solution is taken private, we feel like we've been asked to close our eyes and grab our ankles, and we remember this when making future purchase decisions.

That may be true but more often than not the information provided on these forums is lacking or misguided. It is always best to seek support from the company or dealer who represents the product to ensure the information is accurate and complete. This will prevent unnecessarily wasted time and possible damage to the vehicle or product. If a customer chooses to seek help on a public forum it should be done as a secondary measure.
We and our dealers much prefer our forum as a medium to interact with our customers. This will ensure a more timely response and allow us to provide critical information and tools that can not be provided on public forums.
There is additional information that may be of help to 03redzo6 if he chooses to engage our support dept.

Perhaps I was unclear. I wasn't suggesting that the OP take general forum advice over yours. I was suggesting that you put your response in this thread, rather than saying, "Contact our support department."
When tech solutions are offered privately on a public forum, it's an affront to all of us who wasted time clicking on this thread.

Sorry, there are certain things which we do not consider public domain and must remain within our forum. There are simply too many threads on public forums to be able to offer the level of support required in many of these cases especially when the topic has been covered many times before. To have a manufacturer frequent the forums such as we do is a bonus but is not the norm. Most manufactures do not provide any tech support on public forums for many good reasons. We have tried this in the past and found it did not work out very well at all.
We will continue to provide insight and guidance on the forums when possible but at the same time encourage customers to use our direct resources for the best support.
Geez, dude, you're already posting on this thread, and it wouldn't have been much more work to post an answer if you had one, particularly since since the OP already provided it for you.
Is there something about making your products work effectively which needs to remain veiled in mystery?
You have a big potential market here for your products. Think about what kind of vendors people want to deal with. Have you made a good presentation, and put your best foot forward?
