Transmission change and alignment?

Transmission change and alignment?
My 2001 A4 transmission took a dump and I am having a RPM transmission installed. The installer tells me that after installing the transmission he will have to have it realigned since the cradle was removed and replaced. I haven't heard this before does it make sense that an alignment is required? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time. Tom

you have to remove the entire rear suspension, so an alignment would be ideal when they are finished replacing the trans....
i have re aligned cars after replacing a clutch, and the alignment only needed a very minor adjustment.....its the "right" way to do it....
