From what I understand, the 2002's are a little louder then the 2001's. I am sure you can find a member on this board who has a set lying around and willing to sell it for alot cheaper then a dealer. I have seen them selling for $599-$1000.

I think it may have to do with the loss of the pup cats which the '01 Z06's had,
Bingo! To get the complete '02 Z06 sound, you need two changes. Not only the mufflers, but the pre-cat-less H pipe; or the gutting of the pre-cats.
I'm halfway there, just finished gutin' the pre-cats and the exhaust become more throaty sounding. Tomorrow I swap the stock mufflers for the '02 titaniums.

I don't know how true it is, but I have heard that Nate at Extreme sells used Z06 exhausts for around $600. It wouldn't hurt to call and check with him.
Right now I'm trying to decide between replacing my stock exhaust with a Z06 exhaust or Corsa Indys + X-Pipe. I'll get to hear Mike's Z06 exhaust tomorrow after he gets it installed, but I really need to get a good listen to the Indys to make up my mind. The one concern I have about the Corsas is whether I'm going to have trouble getting the tips lined up. I certainly don't want that hassle.

The 01 and 02 part numbers are different.
The 02 Z06 does sound nastier than the 01, but it is certainly a combo of no pre-cats and lumpier cam.
I bought a Z06 exhaust from Nate for $600. Just as expected, it was flawless.
I like the sound, 30% more agressive, better looking tips, perfect for my daily driver.
