Default AC issue

2000 C5 A4.

Just recently had the coil replaced and AC worked on. Now the AC button wont stay on until it seems like it wants to. It did start working and stay on finally when the car reached operating temps. Not sure if that is relavent or not. Just kind of annoying when 100 degrees out is all.

Thanks for any help.

P.S. Used the search function and came up with nothing. Could be how I was searching but not sure.

Gotta check for codes first.

Press and hold number 4 on the right side of your steering wheel...simultaneously press the number 1 button four times. You will enter diagnostic mode on your DIC...just let it run through and sit there with a piece of paper and a pen..write fast.

All your codes will be stuff such as P 0140 H C or you're looking from something like B 0440 C or something in the B 03/B 04 area..in the HVAC section

Give the car a second to run through it's little "brake before shift" sequence or just turn the key on and press reset until the screen is clear then do procedure above.

I'll bet you have some codes in the HVAC section...

If no codes, check your R134A levels..27-35 low side, 150-330 high @ 2000 RPM...higher is for higher humidity areas. DONT OVERDO IT ON THESE
