Wow you can work google im impressed. LOL Just kidding.

to the OP you will notice that 400 WHP in these cars is very doable and there are countless numbers of us on these forums who have 400+ WHP cars. 224/224 or 228/228 duration cams, (or other popular grinds available from vendors such as Texas Speed, england green, ect. ect. with AFR, PRC or Trickflow heads and 42LB injectors, LS6 or FAST intake manifold, long tube headers with an X Pipe and either an aftermarket cat back exhaust or Z06 Titanium exhaust seem to be the more common bolt ons with those of us making 400 WHP or more. also what ever you budget for your self give yourself a $600 margine just to be safe. Also since most on here are not tuners you should factor in the cost of a professional dyno/street tune for your car.

My personal mods are a set of early casting heads that I had worked, my cam is similar to most except im running a little more duration then some Int. Exh.
Valve Lift .578 .592
Lobe Lift .340 .348
Adv Dur. 284 292
Dur @ .050 233 241

My heads like I mentioned before, flow better then LS6 heads and are close to alot of the high dollar aftermarket heads. Heres why I opted to do a set of stock castings and go with a little more cam vs. go with less cam and a better flowing more expensive head. you can pretty much pay the same price for a cam reguardless of the grind you specify. my heads were almost a grand cheaper then say a AFR or trick flow head. The bottom line was I had a specific power number in mine I wanted to be right at or above 400 WHP, I wanted to spend as little money as possible and I wanted to have quality components. You really have to weigh your options.

I wanted to mention something else for you to take into consideration when it comes to selecting a cam shaft. alot of the aftermarket cam shafts you see out there for this car (and other cars for that matter) from the smaller after market cam to the big ones typically are all around the same peak power range its just that they all tend to make peak HP and TQ at different spots in the RPM band of your vehicle. What im trying to say is you dont need a huge cam to make good USEABLE power. you dont need High dollar heads to make good USEABLE power as well. you have to balance it out. Too much cam and not enough head or engine and you have a car that sounds like a top fuel dragster but couldnt beat it self out of a wet paper bag. Too much head and not enough cam you end up really pissed off because you bought the same high dollar heads that your buddy bought but your making 40 less WHP then him because you were lets say..... more concerned with passing smog test and your cam dosent match the $2,500 370+ CFM heads you bought (not enough engine or cam). yes I know there are indeed other variables in making power im just covering alot of the mistakes I see people make when it comes to modding thier car. in closing, the best advice I can give is Keep doing what your doing. Talk to forum members, call some of our supporting vendors (most of them have a vast amount of experience with corvettes and they know what works. If your unsure, ask!

Good luck man!
