Default swirl marks????????????

can someone give me a discription of what exactally a swirl mark is. Is it those "holographic"marks one can see after a bad buffing job but can only be seen at certain angles or are they actual scratches that you can see when looking closely at ones paint. I seem to have a few on my drivers side, could I have put them there when drying my car(I use fieldcrest 100% cotton ). Might have used some when they were'nt totally clean. Can someone please explain this for me. I do use Zaino but let it go over the winter and am probably down to bare paint now. Thanks for any help.

We are probably going to have this thread moved but,

As I understand it ues what you are seeing are swirl marks. I believe that swirl marks are scratches in the clear coat. There are some products on the market to get rid of these. I have not tried any of them so I can not recommend them. I think Z - 5, and 3m swirl mark remover are two of the popular ones.

Did you cut the edges off your towels. The threads are not cotton.

Check out the detailing section for more info. You can also check with Carl. he sells Zaino and is very helpful. I think online he is hcvone. Good luck

Lee

C5 Lee is right. Are they scratches in a circle pattern or just light scratches? In both cases they sound very minor and can be taken care of with Zaino or any other high quality swirl mark removal product. Meguires worke very well.

their just lines you can see in the paint as you walk by the car and the car hits the light at a certain angle, but they are straight lines.

Very common problem, the marks should be removed after the car is dirt free and with the zanio applied with a "Made in USA" cotton towel with all edges cut off. If this does not do it, a good detialer with a low speed buffer should do the trick. Good luck! :D
