How hard is it to replace Front O2 sensors??? Please step in
Ok, so i am throwing the P0135 code and the front O2 needs replacement. I have a C5 Z with LG longtubes. How hard is it to change it out? I do not have a lift and will need to put it on jack stands.
Not hard at all. Just a matter of unscrewing the o2 Sensor. Found best that you run car for a bit to get up to temp and break loose while still hot. Good luck.
The problem that I found is not replacing the sensor, BUT,, the placement of the wires, With LG long tube headers, they do not give you much room to get the wires away from the header pipes.
They should be about 4" from them, and finding a place to keep them away is a challenge. care nned to be taken, or you will have melted wires. and one more thing, You NEED to use a good copper base anti-seiz on the threads, A must. Good Luck.

I put thermal protective foil covered canvas over my wires and it works very well. It also allows me to RTV the protective covering to the tunnel plate which keeps them up off the mid pipe. I have stainless works headers and an X pipe with a 3" mid pipe so theres not much room to separate the wires from the headers:
Heres the basic ARH style header/O2 sensor layout.
