I have had a window commander in my corvette for a number of years. The drivers window stopped working with the window commander and C5 Solutions is no longer around. How do I uninstall the window commander? I did not install it way back when- I had a shop do it. thx

I also have the Window Commander. Unlike the Window Valet... the Commander module installed in each door panel. It had male/female plugs that went inline with the factory wiring. All you need do is remove the door trim panel - unplug the Commander; then plug the factory connectors back into each other.
You can also find 'em at Pep Boys and Harbor Freight for pretty cheap.
I've removed my door panels several times. Here's some basics:
* Be careful when you remove the plugs behind the door pulls. The clips on them can get pretty fragile over time and break off. Speakin' from experience here. If you do break one, they're only a couple of bucks at the stealership.
* The window / lock controls and door reflector come out easily with a flat head screw driver. The window / lock controls only have clips at one end; the other end has a tab.
* The door panel clips run along the bottom edge to the rear edge of the doors. I don't remember the exact number of clips, but once you find the first one you can pretty easily find the rest. Be careful prying the panel away to find the first clip or you'll scratch your paint!
* The top of the door panels (along the window edge) clip into the channel where the window slides. You just have to lift firmly upwards and they'll pop out. I found that gently lifting from one side to the other would allow them to come out easier.
