This is the 2rd battery that I have had to put in the car in the last 15 months. The first time the delco leaked @ 5000 miles and the dealer had to replace the ECU harness. The dealer replaced the delco with (what else) another delco. Yesterday the car began to have a hard time starting. It would eventually crank over, but I didn't want to chance it. I took it to sears and they ran a load test on it. Battery went bad after 3 loads. So, to make a long story short, I got a die hard. Hopefully its the last battery this car will see for sometime.
Have any of you had bad experiences with delco batteries?
ditto the ditto. Same problem with a leaking Delco. Required 2 trips to the Dealer to get all the corroded crap fixed. Hope there is not more trouble lurking down there. Pulled the brand-new Delco and put in a Red Top.
Had the same thing happen with a Delco batt in a Suburban I previously owned. The acid leaked down the cable to where it dripped on the transmission coolant line. It eventually ate through the aluminum to create a pin hole that then sprayed a fine mist of ATF into the RF wheel assembly. Biggest damn mess I've even seen in my life. Took 2 days to cleanup.
I also just replaced my dead - leaking Delco with a MaxTec(?) from Wal-Mart after 4 years and 27000 miles. The Max has a bright yellow casing with a black top....I was thinking this would look nice in a MY C5.
$69 plus a 3 year full replacement - no pro-rating
