Default Won't start after storage

I went to get car out of storage. The battery had been disconnect. There were some sparks when I connected it. The battery has plenty of juice and I also had a supplemental battery. When I go to start it, it does nothing. The dash lights come on bright, but there is absolutely no sound from the engine when you turn the key NONE not even a click. Is it possible that I've blown a fuse to the starter? Or any other ideas before I have it towed to the dealership.

Try charging the battery, sounds like low voltage to me.

Hello,

The lights on the dash, or indications of voltage can be misleading.

Before you call the hook, remove/take your battery to Auto Zone for a free "load test" to determine if the battery is actually serviceable.

No fuse to the starter that I know of.....solinoid may have coroded a little so you may need to tap it gently ( located on top of starter, use handel of screwdriver).

Denny M,

I agree with the guys above about getting a full charge in the battery. Having it load tested is a good idea.

While you are tending the battery, be sure to clean the battery cable connections, they may be corroded enough that your supplemental battery isn't able to apply its voltage.

Good luck.

Close the door, turn off the radio, lights, and anything else you can. Wait for the interior lights to go off.

Clutch pedal pressed all the way in? Auto trans. in Park?

What voltage is shown on the DIC? If you have access to a voltmeter, check out what the voltage does when you turn the key.

By the way, the sparks are normal when the battery is reconnected.

How did you store your battery?

Without trickle charging, it is not uncommon for the battery to loose voltage.

Once you get it started, be on the lookout for a Battery Tender for next year.
