Quick question. I have a 2001 6speed and today I got the "Pull key, wait 10 seconds" message, followed by the Service column lock message. The messages are consistent and show up on every start. But here is the twist, the column unlocks fine and the car does not die, it drives fine.
I am going to reset the BCM using info I found in the sticky. Anyone have any other suggestions? I searched but didn't find anything that matched my situation.

Are you saying the column physically locks with NO KEY in the ignition? Then with a key in the ignition you have the column unlock, then get the two error messages in the DIC and then the car is driveable??
After some investigation, resetting the BCM, clearing codes, disconnecting the battery for a while and then and replacing the batter,. The GM K harness was the culprit. I removed the K Harness (the white Tyco part # 15477384) and plugging the column lock back together, the message is gone.
I am ordering a CLB just to be safe.
Who has the most reliable CLB?
