I was driving last night when all of a sudden every idiot light I had went on, the radio shut down it said there was reduced engine power and all the gauges stopped working (the car ran fine) I read the post on bad grounds but I think what happened to me goes a little beyond this, especially the radio turning off and going totally dead. Any thoughts ?2003 convertible, 57000 miles, never a single issue to date
Thanks, not sure where that is. could that also cause the windows to stop working ? also when I shut her down it will drive normal and start with the symptoms all over again ? I read that guys post but not sure what finally cured his problem
Thanks Dino
OK so I pull the black acordian boot out of the door and the connection will be there ? (bare with me, this is all new to me) I bought some of the liquid tape , marine use. Supposed to work better the guy said
This happens to me all the time. Yes it will make the radio go out and the windows inoperative. It's in the accordion tube wiring somewhere. It's a pain, I have not been able to find the gremlin yet myself. Make sure your connector is clean and making good contact as well.
Well I tightened some of the grounds and put the liquid insulation on the bare wire. Do I have to manually reset anything ? If so could you please direct me ( I am sure it is here someplace) to that page
OK Thanks
I took it for a ride last night and all the junk came on, everything stopped working until I hit the reset button while driving and everything came back to normal except the traction button which stayed on. I figured there might be something to clear that. Can I assume that if the problem was properly fixed the car would turn on and everything would be normal without having to do anything (like resetting everything manually)
Thanks Dino
