Yep. Cam is driven via roller chain. There was a pic of a totalled Z06 floating around in OT (I think), thread titled OUCH!. The chain is readily visible in pics of the front end -- engine was blasted open in the crash. :eek:

I would say it´s worth it.
I´ve heard about broken chains damaging Ls1`s.
I did intall the cloyes "AL" timing chain set when I did my heads/cam.
Stronger gears and much stronger chain!!
Not chap (about 300+$, if I remember right), but worth the money IMHO.
It´s a non stretch heavy duty chain in that package.
Guess why I have a new engine on order from DRM ? Broken timing chain :sad: Major damages which made me decide to get a new engine with Cloyes heavy duty IRL chain.
