Default Service Traction Control/Active Handling?

Was out for dinner with a lady friend, car was running great, got to her place to drop her off, sat in the drive for a bit before she left, when she opened the door to get out the dash lit up like a christmas tree.

Service Traction Control/Active handling came up on the display, so did the traction control "off" light on the dash. I back out of the drive, went down the street a bit, pulled to the side, shut the car down for a few seconds, restart, all warning disappeared.

What the heck was that about? Anyone experience this before?

Default S#*t happens, so now...

...it's time to check those "codes" to see what triggered that warning you got in your DIC....do this & tell us what CODES You get so we can diagnose your issue:

with the key in the on position, but the engine not running
push and release the reset button until all messages cleared
next push and HOLD button #4
next push and release button #1 four times while holding button #4
When first engaged the on-board diagnostics go into an "automatic" mode which shows all parameters: PCM-TCS-RTD-BCM-IPC-radio-HVAC-LDCM-RDCM-SCM-RFA. If there are no problems, you will see "no more codes" on the ICP display. The computer will show two kinds of codes, "current" and "history," designated "C" or "H". A current code indicates a malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a past problem. When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Press "gages" to go forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M".
you can erase or "clear" codes by pressing "reset"

Same thing happened to me. After a lot of concern, I cleaned the 8 ground connectors and everything was solved. Try that.. Good luck

I tried this but it didnt work, key is in the on position with the standard warnng lights on the dash (brake, seatbelt, check gauges, check engine) but I cant get it to display codes. I wonder if I am holding reset button down long enough in step 1. How long roughly, I held it for 5-10 seconds before going to step 2.
