charge system fault

charge system fault

i saw this message twice last week,,
it showed for seconds only,, no drops in voltage,, but sometimes headlights brightness is not steady,,
what can this be?

Actually several things, I would start by checking the charge state of the battery,and connections at the battery. Then move on to check for codes.

Do you know what your alternator is putting out to the battery?

I wouldn't go by the DIC right now, Do you have a multimeter to check at the battery terminals and at the alternator to see what the voltage is while running?

First thing is to check that battery.
