Can these just be pounded out from up top with a big f'n hammer? I am mounting a race seat and it is nearly impossible to get a wrench on the rear nut so I'd like to weld a nut to the mounting bracket and attach the bolt from the bottom.
Most have not had any reason to remove them so I dont believe you will find many replies. I believe that there spot welded to the metal support bracket.
Look at the bolt head from the bottom of the floor brace and make sure that it not welded to that bracket.
If there NOT,,,, MAKE SURE that you support the balsa wood floor and the brace before you start pounding as you may damage the metal brace and crack the floor.
Thanks guys. I was hoping that beating them out would be easiest. I've spent a long time underneath (elaborate anti-sub harness install) and haven't seen any spot welds on the studs. The factory glue stalagtites hanging under the car are impressive
You can grind them from the bottom, and then put a jack underneath with a socket over the bolt, then just knock it out. You can also get the stud extenders from Hardbar(?) for like $25 a peice if you want to do the easy way.
