My '01 Vette has about 60K on it now, and I'm considering "freshening up" the performance a little. How well will a stock LS1 drive train handle the supercharging packages offered by our forum vendors? Are there parts which need to be strengthened? This would be for a once in a while thrill on the street, not for extended racing or hard use.

Forum member for 8 years, and nothing in your sig.....come on bro...
Auto or manual?
Where launching is concerned, auto's are more forgiving on the differential than a manual (also depends on how you launch). I have a manual. I do not abuse my car. Some spirited driving, and an annual visit to the drag strip. I knew the street tires would melt after the SC install, so I wanted to do it once and done.
Textralia Z-grip clutch/flywheel
RPM differential, 3-rib case, hardened output shafts, upgraded clutch packs, etc.
New torque tube couplers
Did you change the differential as a precaution or did something happen to the original? Different ratio?
Yep. It's a 99, so it only had a single rib case, and after watching a number of C5 go home on flatbeds from the drag strip(with broken left output shafts), it was a no brainer. Since I purchased a whole assembly, I also went with 3:73 gears. I had full intentions of running drag radials (M/T ET streets).....and when it's warm....they dead hook at my power level.
Eh, lazy. It's a manual. Which SC did you go with? Any adverse effects on the engine itself?
I purchased a Vortec kit from A&A. It's a piece of cake to install. No adverse effects at all. Still drives like stock.....until I put my foot in it.....
...is described in my signature. Installed December 2005 on a stock LS1 w/MN6 gears, stock clutch & rear end. Never a problem with 38,000 trouble free miles. No drag strips...just wide open stretches of country roads...

I just had an A&A kit installed at 56K, drives stock until needed then...hold on!
I have a A&A Vortec supercharger with all the extra bolt-ons
and my stock tranny (auto) lasted 3 years before I started to
lose 3rd gear. I am in the process of installing a hi- performance
tranny that can take the extra hp. I run 530rwhp/500torg.
If you will be tracking your vette alot I would recommend that
you replace the left shaft with a stronger one. Good luck.
