Default trunk release

Hello again, thanks everyone for your help in the wet floor, the drain for the airconditioner was definately plugged, got at it from below a lot easier that from the top.
My problem now is that the trunk release does not work with the key fob or the interior trunk release button. I know that the convertible cover has to be closed in order to open the trunk, and I do believe that the cover switch is working.
any ideas?

Sometimes the lid just won't raise by itself. Open the dorr with the vert top up, click the button and close the door fairly hard. The air pressure will some times raise the lid a little. If the lid comes up a little, raise it up and oil all the hinges.

He should still hear the latch move.

Default trunk wont open

Yes, I checked the fuse and I also swapped the relay with another one to check to be sure the relay was operating properly and it did work in the other relay socket.
any other suggestions?

Have you removed your interior panels recently? Specifically the driver's side knee bolster? If you have, make sure the connector behind the trunk release/fog light switch is on securely...

Its a pretty simple circuit. Put a multi meter onto the connections at the latch and make sure you get a signal when someone presses the switch. If that's OK it has to be mechanical. Lubricate the switch. If that fails its a latch change. I can send you the procedure if you need it.
