I own a 2000 FRC. I have always liked the looks of the rear brake ducts on a ZO6. Can you just install the outside screen part(the part you see) and not install the ducts? I am in this for the looks. I saw the stick on kind, and dont really like the look of those. I know I will get flamed for not making them functional, but hey, I gotta ask!

If you are going to put the outside scoops on your car, you need to cut the rocker and fix them to the rocker. I cant see why you wouldn't add the actual air ducts.. they are the cheap and the easy part of this mod.

Sure you can install just the outside screen portion of the brake ducts without actually installing the ductwork back to the wheel area. But you will get water into the inner fender/rocker panel area that wouldn't be there if the ductwork was in place. And the only other mod you need to do to install the duct work is cut the fender liner to run the ductwork from the screen portion to the rear wheels.

You will also add a lot of air pressure in the wheel well/liner without a good way out. You can put a block off inside the cutout to eliminate this.
