Default BBK Cold Air Intake

Thinking about getting a BBK Cold Air Intake. Anyone have experience with them? They recommend the 80mm throttle body and headers. I need advise before purchasing anything. I am a motorcycle racer with no recent car experience. Just want to pep things up a little.

Do a search. most ppl dont like them and really dont perform.

Fast 92/92 would be a better choice

Much better CAI's out there that will out perform the BBK unit. Search for Vararam, Callaway Honker, and WCC Hurricane...these are all true cold air intakes that breath cool ambient air rather that hot under hood air.

Of course BBK recommends their 80mm TB to go with their intake. That TB also comes with a reducer/adapter to taper the 80mm opening down to the 78mm opening of the intake manifold. So obviously, anything larger than the opening of the stock manifold is useless. There's virually no HP gains to be had with just a TB swap...spend that money on a good tune.

Default Thanks

Thanks Guys! Thats why I am on here asking. I am researching. I want to pep it up but not spend thousands on a supercharger. Don't like nitrus on a street car I am going to crusie with. I was into it in the 70's, I am way behind in car Tech. so I am looking for help. I love doing things myself but the electronic stuff I will leave to the experts.

One of the true cold air intakes that I mentioned above along with aome LT headers and a good professional tune is the first place to start. Good for 25-30 hp to the rear wheels.
