It was a failed back-up switch!

Replaced the back-up switch today --- everything seems find now

Thanks to all for your input and directing me to the problem. I never would have suspected that the switch would have shorted out the entire circuit.

Thanks again

Oh, this is a recent thread! OK, I've got a similar problem. The mirror doesn't seem to dim and the map lights are out, but the amber light and the green light on the mirror are still on. Thoughts? Fuse #2?

I have a 2001 coupe and this is the schematic for the inside rearview mirror from my service manual. Other years may be different. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/atta...1&d=1284600834 I would trace the wires to the other lights and accessories that are on the same circuit as the lights you are trying to fix. Good Luck

Man you gotta love this forum. I've been driving around wondering why my rear view no longer auto dims, my driver side day/night is stuck with a copper color tint and my vanities don't work. Since the only one bothered by lack of light on mirror is my wife I never "got around" to fixing it!

It's so easy that now I have to!

Fuse 21 was it; no time for my own car the past few weeks, things are busy

feels good crossing the minor stuff off my 130,000 Z06 list, been on the road now for 2 weeks

Old thread, but same problem.
I checked fuses 2 and 21, and they are not blown, and look fine.
All lights on the mirror are working, and the back up lights are working correctly.

Why won't the mirror dim?

Thanks, Bob.

I had a similar problem a few months ago and after replacing fuses that were blowing and replacing the reverse switch, I found it to be a relay in the underherhood fuse box. Good luck! Save the wave.

Mine hasn't worked in years, the only time I think about it is when I need it,not when I can check it. Maybe tomorrow I can remember to check it out. Thanks to all.

Default rear view mirror courtesy lights don't work

All my other lights works except the rearview mirror courtesy lights . I changed the fuses on #2 and #21 #2 looked a little off but just like a spot not a break but nothing after I changed them ? Is it possible that both bulbs blew out, they are original but worked fine the last time I checked.
