Default Cooling fans and fuel gauge problems

Hi Guys I need some help.
I was out for a country ride in my 2003 vette when I notice it was running a little hot around 230, also notice the fuel gauge went to zero and a low fuel message came up. I had at least a half tank so it was not low fuel, turned the air off and while watching the temp headed for home. Got in the garage opened the hood and with the air on and the water temp around 230 noticed the fans where not running. Also noticed the fuel gauge started working again.
Where do I start looking first? are the cooling fans and fuel gauge some how related? It may be time for me to get the shop manuals because my car is not going to a Chevy dealer for sure. My car is a six speed 350 hp coupe if that helps.

Thanks Ron

Turn on the HVAC and see if the fans are running. If not, check the ground pack at the right forward top frame rail directly adjacent to the hood riser. That's where the grounds are for the fans.

Checked ground pack, was not loose, cleaned it up and put back together, I had tried AC before and cooling fans where not running, they are now but I think there is more to this story. Ordered shop manuals, I wish there where lights inside the car to show when fans where running.
Thanks Ron

Just an FYI on the fuel occurance. This has plagued many C5's, do a search. You either got some bad gas or need to use a fuel system cleaner to help clean the level sensor in the tank. this is also probably just coincidental to your cooling issues. Good luck
