How many of you guys own the GM C5 shop manual? Is there a version on CD or online? I have a 2001 convertible that I think I might want to keep forever.

There is...I just saw something about this within the past week. I'll try to find the thread. It was a bit off topic...
I have the factory manuals for my 02. First purchase after I bought the car. They are now dogeared, tattered and have stickies all over them from use. They are indispensable in my opinion.
Maybe I'm old-fashioned (or just old) but I much prefer book manuals rather than having to go through a CD. Check any CD version you might get for clarity of illustrations. The factory C5 manual illustrations are wretched anyway, not sharp or detailed as they should be, and a scan for a CD version may make them worse.
This Forum, and other sources, often offer the factory manuals used at a discount from the new prices.
I have the 3 volume set for my 99. Another idea is to subscribe to All Data. It is less than $50 for a year's subscription. The site has all kinds of useful information. Just my $0.02.

This is one investment that I am an IDIOT for not making.
Buy them and you'll be so glad you did. I've asked so many dumb questions on here that were easily answered and sometimes explained even better in the PDF files that I've received from the service manual
But I like having the actual books also. I use the DVD for researching and the manual in the garage.
I downloaded these and they are no where near in detail that the 3 book manuals are. The downloaded one has no body/chassis info, just engine and transmission. Wish I could download a copy of the 3 book one on DVD just for the C5.
