i just tore my clutch apart and noticed that it really doesnt look good. very bad hot spots on the PP and Flywheel, and a bunch of dust. it was a centerforce lightweight flywheel and clutch setup. it revved quicker but i didnt enjoy it at the track all that much. especially towards the end. the car see's mostly street miles, but after winter it will get some abuse at the track again. i just want it to hold up to a good beating. i am hoping to put down around 450rwhp when all back together. ls7 clutch kit? i hear its very heavy... any input would be GREAT! thanks! korey.
I am pushing around 400rwh, soon to be about 500... installed ls7 clutch after tearing up the tranny/clutch. Asked a few tuners in the area for opinions, and they recommended it, best for $$. It feels stock and should support my goals. I have been to the strip with about 20 passes, stuck to floor once between passes. Unsure if the weight affected anything since I really have nothing to compare it to.
Just looked at my centerforce dual friction 12" yesterday and it has plenty of meat left on it, has a lot of abuse with several 4k+ rpm launches on ET Streets. I will get another when I fry this one.

I might be a little biased, but I'd recommend a level 2 Monster 100% pure kevlar with billet flywheel with your power and goals...I wouldn't put in an ls7 if you intend on racing it(because it can't handle the heat and is heavy), I'd rather take my chances with a weight sticking on the Centerforce
wow. i cant justify spending that much on a clutch right now. i think i'll stick with ls7
If your budget presently isn't suited for a twin disc, then go with a good after market single disc clutch. The LS7 clutch would be the last on my list if serious drag racing is part of the equation as it relates to your intended use of the clutch...swap out the stock master cylinder as well for a good reliable set up.

i'll keep searching. i have all new hydraulics from a clutch job a few thousand miles ago.
so no ls7 if i plan on drag racing it much? im thinking about a monster stage 2 or 3. i dont want centerforce for sure. i used to launch pretty hard, but i dont have slicks anymore so i wont be dumping so hard and it wont be grabbing so much. it will see the street alot, and the drag strip on occasion for now. until i get tires. i've read the ls7 is very heavy, doesnt take heat, and cant take much for launches..
