drivetrain clank when down/upshifting

drivetrain clank when down/upshifting

Hi everybody.

I have had so much help on here I thought I would ask a question, and forgive my ignorance.

I have an 01 6 speed and here lately i noticed that when i take of and down shift and let out the clutch there is a single clank as either the DT or the transmission engages... is this something i should worry about and get it in, or is it normal. the car has 62k miles on it.

If you baby the clutch out is it quiet?

My vert with less than 20k on it has done the same thing since I got it and i've been told its normal.

yeah if i feather it i don't hear it, it's only when i am driving it more aggressive... really sounds like slack in the DT... but I am only guessing. I hope that is the case.

Think that's bad try driving a 2006 Solstice, It's the opposite, baby it and it clanks all the way, get on it and it's okay. GM says it's a normal noise
