Default GM Hot cam kit??

Ok Its not a dd and I am not changing heads! I am adding a set of longtubes and a underdrive pully so I have to retune anyway. Here is my question to anyone using a GM hot cam, how much power gain? Hot rod magazine says 50hp gain with hot cam kit on a stock ls1. I dont need big cam ideas I already have a drag car. Just wanting to see if someone is running this setup. Im looking for 370whp with stock heads and boltons.
01 A4 3:42 mild stall and bb bullits
Thanks

I would not consider a cam a bolt on mod. If you go to the expense and hassel of a cam swap, go bigger than the GM.... The Z06 with a similar cam AND better heads does 405 flywheel.

I will be doing the cam swap so no labor cost just 500.00 for dynotune, + cam kit and underdrive cost. I am not pulling the heads and a bigger cam will need probly need pistons cut. So right now thats out of the question. Weekend project

you can get a pretty big cam without fly cut, like the g5x3 112, but sounds like you dont want that big so i would do the g5x1 112

I run a 237/242 .603/.609 112LSA on my stock 241's and put down 413RWHP before I put my FAST 92 on.

So the g5x1 is ok with stock heads? The reason I am not doing heads is I am planning a sts twinn setup next year. But I want a more agressive grind on cam for a little more power and aggresive idle.

I see a lot of people using Comp Cams 54-444-11 (I think that's right, lol). Offers about 455hp at flywheel compared to about 405hp with stock cam (crate LS1 test motor factory rated at 345hp). Test motor run with dual 2 1/2" exhaust, and I think an 80mm TB and MAF.

I ran a very similar cam (219/225 on a 114 LSA .510" LIFT) with CCd and polished 241 casting heads on my 01 M6 coupe before I sold it. The car was faster than the 01 Z I currently have and was producing approximately 370 RWHP.
I liked the cam so much that I removed it from coupe before selling it and will be installing it on the Z in the near future.
