Default Adjusting the mileage?

Hey all,
Wonder if someone may be able to help or know someone that can help. I recently had my gauge cluster fail on me, so I bought a used cluster to replace it. The problem I am having is that the new cluster has ALOT less miles than my car has, and I really want to get it set to the current mileage. If it were a matter of a few thousand miles I would not worry about it, but its like 80k miles. My local dealer which is pretty large told me they do not have the equipment to change the mileage and I would have to send out the cluster to specmo at the tune of $450. I'm located in Madison, WI and willing to travel if someone knows someone that can get this done, preferably on the cheap.

Thanks everyone!

I think most have just been swapping the PCB's out, so the mileage transfers.

My problem was the speaker driver within the PCB though

Just curious, have you swapped out the IPC to make sure the noise goes away?

Who gave you the $450 cost? Is that Specmo's estimate or somebody elses? Have you tried a different dealer?

Yeah, the new cluster is in, noise is gone thank god. Cluster is just like 80k off. I havent called any other dealers as this was really the only one in my area that is a large chevy dealer and figured they would know best. $450 was the dealers estimate for the cost.

Give these guys a call, make sure you have the P/N for both IPCs when you call.

Wow, thanks for the info! I may actually be able to use this for work as well. Whats not good is that I dont have the numbers off the ipc so i will have to pull the cluster out...again. This will be time number 4.
