I have some higher temps as low speed traffic, rare like in a long parade not regular drivnig, otherwise no heating problems. I got one of those remote switches to turn on the low speed fans when that happens. I'd like to put an indicator to know when the fans are on or off so I can tell if they are already on and to turn them off if I leave them on after the traffic clears.
Where would be the best place to take the switched 12 volts from? From the wire coming from the relay (On when relay on)? From the wire going to the fan itself?
I can get the light to where I want it but need to have some opinions on where to get signal from.
Personally, I'd tap into the wire going to the fan. Since the light doesn't draw much current, it should be safe. Just be sure to cover any connections adequately.
