Well, it finaly happened, too hot.I am a smart guy(HA) so I buy a thermostat and 6 quarts of dex cool and it's fixed, right? Wrong so dummy here never boiled the old thermostat to check it.

TO make a long story short I poured over all the post's on overheating that I could find in the search.Reluctantly I pulled the rad and blew the @#$% out of it and the condensor.I did drop the water pump just to eliminate that possibility.I was happy to reasemble and burp the system(that is a long process) and ....yes it was dirt in the fins of the condensor and the rad. Thanks to all that took the time to post all those experiences with the problem.I love this place.

I tell everyone to test their stat if they have problems... be it a new one or an old one.. it take so litle time to elimiate this potential problem.

So I take it that your cooling system is OK>???? its not that clear in your post.

You bet,I was skeptical about the rad as it looked clean from down below, but the amount of grit I blew out between it and the condenser was unbelievable.I got to say next time I drain it I am going to try clamping off the heater hoses cause it seems that is where most of the air in the system was.

I think I posted in your original thread about the fact that I always cleaned my radiator and my condenser from the top and thought it was clean because I didn't see anything on either face.. so I decided to take mine out and see from a much better angle whether there was still any stuff in the fins.. and as I said in you post it was clogged up especially through the middle I estimate that even though the faces were clean my radiator and condenser was blocked about 20 to 30 % and with a 12 qt cooling system. It doesn't help much when the ability to transfer heat out of the engine is blocked by 20 to 30 %.. its like a long distance runner trying to run with one of his nostrils blocked. I am happy that your system is fixed. For the ease of removal, everyone should remove their radiator once every few years. it also make the AC run so much better and effortlessly
