Default My first ever error code, P0803

I searched the forums here, but couldn't find anything recent enough that I was sure still contained current information.

I was driving along last week and the dash check light came on. I pulled over as soon as I could to be safe. After entering in the sequence to retrieve the codes and I was presented with: 10-PCM P0803 H C. I couldn’t find any information about the code that would prevent me from driving home. Meaning, it wasn’t something dangerous and/or serious.

I purchased my baby back in 2008 and it's been a incredibly reliable vehicle.

The previous owner had the CAGS bypass installed and it is still currently on the vehicle and functional.

So, what do you folks think? Any suggestions on where to begin research?

Exactky what is wrong. Sounds like that CAGS bypass isnt bypassing any more. Check the connector, by-pass and see if the connectiona are clean and dry and properly connected. The CAGS bypass will seem like it bypass normaly as it is disconnected. The by-pass plug just fools the computer into thinking that it still connected to the tranny.

Type Powertrain - Transmission - ISO/SAE Controlled
Description Skip Shift Solenoid Control Circuit Conditions

Cause Engine speed over 400 rpm, system voltage

P0803 1-4 Upshift (Skip Shift) Solenoid Control Circuit (M/T)

I bet the CAGS bypass has something to do with it. I do not forsee you having any serious issues with it other then having an annoying light on your dash. id get rid of the CAGS bypass and have a professional or yourself if you have the software/hardware, such as HP Tuners and You can eliminate the skip shift that way if you so desire.

Gents, I have access to a lift when I visit the in-laws once or twice a month. Do you guys recommend I purchase a replacement CAGS bypass to have it with me just in case mine is bad?

My thinking is that I should have the part handy since I am not always visiting the family out of town. I live in a condo where working on cars is frowned upon. Damn HOA.

Does anyone have a pictures or some good instructions on were to find the skip shift by-pass?
