Default Ignition Wire Question

I replaced my plugs last weekend as preventive maintenance, and just bought a set of Taylor Spiro Pro wires for the same reason. It does not appear that the factory metal heat shields are compatible with these wires. Info included with the wires indicates that they will withstand radient heat temps of up to 600 deg F. My question is: Is that sufficient? Or do I need to find other wires that will accept the factory heat shields?

Thanks in advance for whatever insight anyone can provide.

They are o.k. to use without the shields.

Many thanks, Racetchr & B. Stewart! I'm going out to the garage and install them now. :)

I bought the MSD's, but the Taylors may have the same problem. I found on the driver's side that the wire itself contacts the metal air tube connected to the exhaust. You can either carefully bend the air tube, or get a piece of rubber fuel line or other insulator and split it and fit it over the metal pipe to protect the wires where the contact.
