Vig 2800 stall not locking up ??
the issue is i find it does shift very hard at normal city driving, under normal throttle. It does break the tires loose at WOT, more than ever, that would be the stall and H/C working together.
the tranny shop said he likes to have the line pressure raised by 20psi, even with the shift kit, so it's actually being increased mechanically and by the computer.
I beleive part of the tuner fix is to return the line pressure to stock settings ( from a computer stand point) and a few other adjustments.
I realise it won't drive bone stock anymore with the TC, but it still needs to shift normaly and be driven by my wife.
corey
however at like cruising speeds or low TQ demands the line pressures can be set as low as 15-20 PSI (stock)---adding 20 PSI here would be doubling it--
If It were my car i would be holding my breath everytime i went to the store hoping it wouldn't grenade---
From going to tuning sch we were taught NEVER to exceed an 8% increase in the base line pressures-- THAT and a combination of lowereing the "shift times" to around .20----------deleting the TQ mangement--
and lowering the "force motor current" tables staring at -15% and adjusting to taste is the best way to get crisp or harder shifts--

Car we re-tuned last night, shift points lowered and fact line pressure setting put back, the car is so much nicer to drive around town
Tuner spent time working with me to get it just right

I am worried about the comment from the tranny builder, saying without the 20psi line pressure increase, the current set up of h/c and 2800 tq the tranny will not last as long as it could with the higher line pressure....
I am still confused with this, all the reading i have done shows the shift kit in the car does increase pressure slightly and will help with the tranny life. Not sure if this is a case of more is better ? One would think smoother shifts would be easier on the drive train overall than the fear of the tranny grenading under such hard shifts ?
