car still wont run

car still wont run

did column lock, cleaned all gounds, cleaned ignition switch, new battery, even went as far as to have the VAT system locked out of the computer. car starts and then shuts off, leave the key in the start position and the car stays running. im at my wits end with this. HELP

sorry, its a 1999 with standard trans, also has lg pro long tube headers. and its just what i said, go to start thecar normally and it fires and the shuts off. but if you start the car and leave the key in the start possition it stays running. i will get the codes soon

the only way it will stay running is to have the key in the full clockwise start possition and hold it there. the car shuts off when you let the key go to the run possition
