strange tail light mod. anyone know? pics
this is a c5 that was bought form a insurance auction. none of the rear tail lights work what so ever, and two of them have this strange mod. they drilled a hole in the tail light then wired in some different bulb. anyone know what kind of bulb/mod this is?

SOMEWHERE!
You also have a strobe module SOMEWHERE. Dont use them on public streets or highways. That gets police officer attention REALLY QUICK!

anyone have any idea why the rear lights dont work? except the little middle brake light? also back up lights dont work when in reverse, but do flash when i lock the car with the key fob.
any help appreciated
also car was hit on passenger side by the pcm. but from what i can tell wires are ok.

The reverse switch on the transmission (passengers side MN6/12) is bad. Very common issue and easy to fix. About $12. as I remember.
Cycle the emergency flasher a dozen or so times and if that doesn't work, the steering column multifunction switch is most likely bad.
